Summerland Jets Alumni Association

Benevolent Fund

At the Summerland Jets Alumni Association (SJAA), we believe that every child should have the opportunity to play hockey—regardless of their financial situation. That’s why we created the SJAA Financial Assistance Program: to help remove the financial barriers that may prevent young athletes from accessing the game they love.

Our goal is simple: to ensure that basic hockey-related expenses are not a reason any child in Summerland is left off the ice.

This program offers support to families who may need help covering the essential costs associated with youth hockey. These may include, but are not limited to:

  • Registration fees for Minor Hockey programs

  • Team fees such as tournament entry, travel, or coaching expenses

  • Basic equipment costs including skates, helmets, pads, and sticks

Each application is reviewed confidentially and thoughtfully by the SJAA Board of Directors. Funding decisions are made at the Board’s discretion, based on the applicant’s needs and the availability of SJAA resources. While we aim to help as many families as possible, our priority is to ensure that assistance is meaningful and impactful where it's most needed.

By supporting this program—through donations, participation in our events, or simply spreading the word—you’re helping give every young player the chance to experience the power of sport, teamwork, and community.

If you or someone you know could benefit from this program, we encourage you to reach out or submit an application. No child should miss out on hockey due to financial barriers.
